Karwa Chauth falls on Thursday 29 October 2026. Many women keep the fast from before sunrise until the moon is seen, often without food or water. A gift for that day should not be another box of sweets. It should be something she keeps.
Who she is decides what you pick. Customs differ by family and by region, so read what follows as a guide and not a rule.
For the sister
In many families, a sister keeping the fast, and especially one keeping her first after marriage, is remembered with a gift from home. Give her something that is only hers. A name does that.
The Heart Keyring with Custom Name Engraving, Rs 1,299, is pure silver plating on a high-grade brass base, engraved with a name of your choice. It cannot be passed on to anyone else in the house. It goes in a handbag, so she does not have to find a shelf for it.
For the friend
A friend who fasts beside you does not need a hamper. She needs one object she will use that evening. The tilak is applied during the Karwa Chauth puja, and the Rajatkamal Tilak Stick with Ruby Accent, Rs 1,499, is made for exactly that.
The head is a cast lotus with a ruby accent. The stem is filed and polished by hand, so it sits easily between two fingers. It comes in a velvet gift box. More in tilak sticks.
For the mother-in-law
In many families, the daughter-in-law offers her mother-in-law a gift after the evening puja, usually with a touch of her feet. Whatever you choose will be handled by an older household, so choose something with weight and a place already waiting for it. The mandir has one.
The Lakshmi Ganesh Idol Set on Wooden Base, Rs 2,150, is small enough to sit in one palm and steady enough to stay on a mandir shelf. Both figures are cast in high-grade brass, finished in pure silver plating, and antiqued so the crowns and lotus seats read clearly. It also carries on into Dhanteras on 6 November and Diwali on 8 November, when the mandir is set up again.
What you are actually giving
All three pieces are pure silver plating on a high-grade brass base. They are not solid silver, and we do not describe them as anything else. What they have is weight, and a finish that holds. Most of our pieces are e-coated, which keeps the shine. Wipe them with a soft, dry cloth and keep them away from heat.
Each one passes through 11 steps in Jaipur, from design and die making to casting, hand filing and plating. The full sequence is in Eleven Steps, One Piece. Why the silver layer is kept thin is in why Sabera's silver plating is thin on purpose.
